About
I started the journey of building this website several years ago. I've been in IT for close to 30 years. In my IT career, I have been a jack of all trades. It all began with printer and computer repair for a local mom-and-pop computer store.
This start help introduce me to the world of computer networks. The next stop was to move up the ladder and become a Systems Administrator for a software company. This stop I started to learn about server OS's and networking components. Another item that I was introduced was scripting and databases. This would become the foundation that I needed to start this next chapter.
Races Website
When I started running and competing in triathlons, I wanted a way to keep track of what I had signed up for. My first attempt was with a local Microsoft Access database. The problem was that it was only available on my laptop. How could I find these items if I did not have my laptop?
I thought I may be able to create my own website. After lots of YouTube tutorials and many other online guides, I had my first attempt as a private site hosted on Heroku. Now, I am trying to host this using a different method and make it available to others.
Camptrack Website
This site has become a labor of love. My wife and I really enjoy camping. A few years ago we purchased a Class C RV and have been traveling at least one a month during the summer. Currently, we are trying to hit as many State Parks in our state.
Being in IT and having the ability to work from home, I wanted to know which State parks would give us that ability. Some parks have no cell towers near or Wifi available. I knew I wanted to keep track of which parks had good enough service to be able to take calls, video conferencing, or any other type of offsite connections I may need.
Thanks for checking out this site and I hope that one of these items will meet your needs and goals. There are more changes to both in the future. I wish you the best in all of your future trips and endeavors.
